Comments: Wow...I stumbled across this site...great and what a lot of work and info...I am looking for original Toombs County charter or article of incorporation and subsequent modifications. Does it exist?

Again, thanks for great site. Compliments to you.

Thanks.

Joanne Coleman

Dear Joanne,

Thanks for the kind comments on the website.

No, I don't know where the orginal charter is.

My guess is you might start at the courtyhouse.

If they can't help you, you might check at the state captial. Your sentator or reprsentative might be able to help you there.

Looking for my gr,gr,gr,grandmother's last name. She was raised by a Standley family, her first name was Francis. She married first Seaborn Reese, second William Ganey, third John O'Brien. Possibly born in Wilkes County GA, but lived in Tattnall County. Buried in Toombs County (use to be Tattnall County).

Thank you in advance.

Sara Hitchcock 2-29-2004

Dear Sara,

I checked the book, "Cemeteries of Toombs County, Georgia" by Moses M. Coleman and didn't find any O'Briens.

Thank you for trying.

I am looking for her maiden name, I am from Francis and Wm. Ganey line. She is buried at Center on private property. Wm. is buried in Decatur co. near Bainbridge.

I just discovered the O,Brien connection but I knew I was related to the Reese's. Just found out how.

Francis' children were Seaborn Reese Jr., Martha Ganey Clifton Mc Donald,; Elizabeth Luvincy Ganey Fiveash;, William Ganey Jr.; Crawford O'Brien, and Mollie (Mary) O'Brien.

Tattnall Co. census says she was born in Wilkes Co. Ga.

thank you.

Third Question Posted March 29, 2004 Monday

Lisa Clark Birth Announcment

From:Lisa Clark
To:ToombsCounty@Georgia.com
Subject:Birth Announcment
Date:Wednesday, March 24, 2004 2:11 PM
Comments : I was wondering how I could have a birth Announcment put into your paper. I live in Tarboro, NC but my boyfriend is from Vidalia GA. PLease let me know how I can go about doing this and how much it will be.

Thank you,

Lisa Clark

Dear Lisa,

The birth needs to be listed in the county the child is born in. Tarboro, NC is in Edgecombe County. The American History and Genealogy Project does not have a county page for that county. North Carolina Counties Selection Table [AHGP].

But the U.S. GenWeb does have a website for Edgecombe County, North Carolina. The County Coordinator is Victoria Proctor. Her email addess is vproc@ix.netcom.com?SUBJECT=Edgecombe_Data

I can create a page for birth announcements for people born in other counties but with a parent from Toombs County. But you didn't give me the information nor your email address.

Just wondering how to get our church listed in your church listing. I am the pastor of
Cedar Crossing Church Of God and unless I overlooked it, we are not listed.

We also have a cemetery, Cedar Crossing Church Of God Cemetery Inc. that at is not listed.

Please feel free to email me.

Thank You!

Dear Nobody,

Thanks for sending me this email.

You did not give me your email address so I can not email you back.

I have added a page Cedar Crossing Church of God Cemetery for your cemetery.

And I have also added a listing Cedar Crossing Church of God for your church.

Thank you.
