Mr. Herbert D. Kilpatrick, age 76, Leesburg, Fla., died Monday, December 9, 2002.
The Plant City, Fla., native had worked for 36 years as a certified welder with the Boiler-makers Union, Local #26, and was a member of The Sanctuary of Savannah. He had resided in Savannah for 52 years prior to relocating to Leesburg.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Margaret Shuman Kilpatrick, Leesburg; one daughter, Gloria Kilpatrick Sutton, Leesburg; two brothers, Jakc Kilpatrick, Richmond Hill, Ga., and Jerry Kilpatrick, Savannah; one granddaugher; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, December 12, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home-Dodgson Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Larry McDaniel, the Reverend lamar Terrell, and the Reverend Hugo Hammond officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Abbey memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to The Sanctuary of Savannah, 8912 Whitfield Ave., Savannah, GA 31406.

Mr. Woodrow McIntyre, age 80, Vidalia, died Wednesday, December 11, 2002, in at his residence following an extended illness.
The native and lifelong Toombs County resident was the son of the late Massie H. and Joanna McIntyre. He was a retired barber and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Vidalia Post #97, and a member and deacon of Vidalia Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lessa McIntyre, Vidalia; one son, Marvin McIntyre, Vidalia; two daughters, Merle Richardson, Vidalia, and Joanna Cardell, Metter; one sister, Rita Pittman, Hixon, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, December 13, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Jay Warthen officiating.
Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service of Vidalia was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Mr. Daniel C. NeeSmith, age 57, Dublin, Ga., died Tuesday, December 10, 2002, in Fairview Park Hospital following a sudden illness.
The Toombs County native was a self-employed painter and was of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include his wife, Quida NeeSmith, Dublin, two sons, Timothy NeeSmith and Scott NeeSmith, both of Dublin; four brothers, Trenton NeeSmith and Quinton NeeSmith, both of Darien, Wendell NeeSmith, Vidalia, and Norman NeeSmith, Lyons; two sisters, Katherine Burkett and Debbie NeeSmith, both of Vidalia, and one grandson.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, December 12, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. in the Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service of Vidalia with the Reverend Steven Toole officiating. Interment followed in Smyrna Methodist Church Cemetery near Uvlada.
Pallbearers were Marty Burkett, Greg Craft, Tony NeeSmith, Steve Chambers, Kevin Burkett and Michael Hancock.

Mr. John Murdock Peebles, Jr., age 79, Swainsboro, died Thursday, December 12, 2002, in Georgia War Veterans Home following an extended illness.
The Treutlen County native was a son of the late John Murdock Peebles, Sr. and the late Inez Bell Peebles. He had resided in Georgia War Veterans Home for the past six years. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy for eight years, and was a retired printer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Toler Peebles.
Survivors include two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lucile and Roy Durden, Soperton, and Trudie Burns, Vidalia; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred Trellis "Nick" and Eudene Peebles, Oak Park, and John Henderson and Mirika Peebles, Tampa, Fla.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, December 15, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home of Soperton with the Reverend Marty Hooks officiating. Interment followed in Harmony Cemetery In Treutlen County.

Miss. Katie Yelonda Ceasar Ruth, Vidalia, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at her residence.
She was a native of Toombs County and was a Baptist.
Survivors include her parents Rev. H.W. Miller and Annie Pearl miller, both of Vidalia, and Phillip Ceasar, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; six brothers, Rev. Phillip A. Ceasar, Rubin Ceasar, Perry Ceasar, Alton Ceasar, Jermaine Porter and Kenny Brown; three sisters, Pricilla Adams, Joyce Tillman and Dori Duke; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 30, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. in the First African Baptist Church, Vidalia with Rev. James Joyce officiating. Interment followed in Eternal Glory Gardens.
Vidalia Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangments.

Mrs. Mary Ellen Toler, age 93, Tarrytown, died Tuesday, December 10, 2002.
The lifelong Montgomery County resident was a daughter of the late Francis Marion and Mattie Coleman Calhoun. She was a member of Tarrytown Baptist Church, and was prceded in death by her husband, Charlie Toler, and her son, Sebring Toler.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Charles Ellen Toler-Thompson and Ned Thompson, Sr., Ailey; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday, December 12, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. in Tarrytown Cemetery with the Reverend Ned Thompson Jr. officiating.
Sammons Funeral Home of Soperton was in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Mr. Donnell Tootle, age 45, Vidalia, died Thursday, December 5, 2002, in Meadows Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.
The navtive and lifelong Toombs County resident was a construction worker, served in the National Guard for 12 years, and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Tootle, Vidalia; one son, Tony Campbell, Honea Path, S.C.; two daughters, Tiffnay Mincey, Uvalda, and Sherry Beckworth, Vidalia; three brothers, Darrell Tootle, Lyons, and Geraldn Tootle and Edward Tootle, both of Vidalia; four sisters, Shirley Helms and Shelby Williamson, both of Vidalia, Sally Jean Bryant, Lyons, and Louise Hadden, Swainsboro; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, December 8, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with the Reverend Joe Phillips and the Reverend Henry Dowd officiating. Interment followed in South Thompson Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shannon Bryant, Jr. Williamson, Brian Thompson, Jeff Foskey, Randall Foskey and Wendrell Meeks.
