Mr. Doyie Cauley, age 64, Warrenville, S.C., died Sunday, November 23, 2003, in the Aiken Regional Medical Center of Aiken, South Carolina, after an extended illness.
He was a native of Montgomery County, living most of his life in Lyons and was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Cauley, Clearwater, S.C.; four sisters, Pearl Hooks, Soperton, Crace Armstrong, Warrenville, Faye Clifton, Lyons, an Carole Harrelson, Reidsville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Maurice and Linda Cauley, Gilbert, S.C., and Carl and Laura Cauley, Warrenville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 26, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones-Stewart Funeral Home of Lyons.
Pallbearers were Keith Hooks, Gene Day, Lonnie Harelson, Heath Harrelson, Michael Smith and Randy Frazier.

Mrs. Gladys M. Davis, age 46, Hull, Geogia, died Saturday, November 22, 2003, at her residence after a brief illness.
She was a native of Toombs County residing in the Uvalda area. She was a nurse and Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Davis, Hull; one daughter, Breezy Loyd, two sons, Christopher Davis, Rockledge, and Michael Davis, Valdosta; one sister, Tammy Kell, Uvalda; her mother, Ruth Lynn, Uvalda; and one niece and nephew.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, November 267, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Rev. Owen Waters officiating. Interment followed in the Cedar Crossing Cemetery.

Mr. Hirman Truby Johnson, age 65, Ailey, died Sunday, November 16, 2003, in the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin after an extended illness.
He was a native of Wheeler County and had lived most of his life in this area, was a sewing machine mechanic and a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Donna C. Johnson, Ailey; one daughter, Lynthia Johnson, Glenwood; one son, Randall Johnson, Glenwood; one sister, Myrtle Clark, Savannah; two brotheres, Marvis Johnson, Glenwood and W.B. Johnson, Laie, Hawaii; one grandson, Stacy Smallpiece, Ailey; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services conducted Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Smith and Rev. Bob Corley officiating. Interment followed in the Galbreath Cemetery near Alston.
Pallbearers were Billy Foskey, Robert Foskey, Ray Yawn, Dennis Goodman, Joe Brown and Buddy Brown.

Mr. Herman Lee, age 59, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003.
He was a native of Glenwood. He was employed with Wheeler County Hospital for many years and Montgomery County Board of Education. He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Henrietta Lee, his wife, Gertude, one daughter, Tangie, two brothers, O.D. Lee and L.G. Lee, and two sisters, Juanita and Minnie Lee.
Survivors include two children, Taryton “Tat” Strange and Kenya R. “Ken”Lee; brothers, J.C. Lee, R.T. Lee, Etheridge McRae, Natrhaniel Lee, Theodus Lee, Charlie Lee and Joe B. Lee; sisters Celestine Lee, Ruby Johnson and Catherine Rozier.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 22, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the New Mount Ararat Holiness Church, Ailey, with Rev. Cleo Conoway and Rev. James Days officiating. Interment followed in the McKinnon Cemetery, Mount Vernon.

Mr. Millard P. Lockley, age 79, Vidalia, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003, in the Toombs Nursing Home of Lyons after an extended illness.
e was a native of Toombs County residing many years in Philadelphia, Penn., and later returning to Vidalia. He was retired from Continental Can, was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, and was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include one son, M. Gregory Lockley, Rockledge, Penn.; three daughters, Elaine Lockley, Kristan Perovich and Ruth Ann McDonnell, all of Philadelphia; one brother, Julian L. Lockley, Vidalia; three sisters, Mary Davis, Johnnie Davis and Marjorie L. Davis, all of Vidalia; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 15, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Rev. Raymond Burrell officiating. Interment followed in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were nephews: Cecil Thompson, Ronnie Davis, Mac Davis, Michael Lockley, Brian Patrick and Jeff Lockley.

Deacon Otis Phillips, age 97, died Sunday, November 16, 2003, in the Toombs Nursing Home after an extended illness.
He was a native of Emanuel County, later moving to Lyons. He worked for the City of Lyons, was a janitor for Lyons High School, First United Methodist Church and various other jobs in the community. He was a member of Mt. Temah Lodge #151 and other organizations. He was a member of the First African Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Martha Phillips.
Survivors include four daughters, Otisteen Stuckey and Jeanette Sanders, Lyons, Delores Johnson, Henderson, Neveda, and Jimmy Nell Smith, Tifton; two sons, Alvin Phillips, Lyons, and Edward Phillips, Wilmington, Delaware; 27 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one niece, Lillie Dukes, Swainsboro; one nephew, Moddie Oglesby, Atlanta; two step-daughters, Callie Sikes and Vertie Lee Allen, Fort Pierce, Florida; seven step-grandchildren; and several other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 22, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. in the First African Missionary Baptist Church, Lyons, with Rev. Clint McCloud officiating. Interment followed in the Macon Cemetery, Lyons.
Active pallbearers were Masonic Brothers of Mt.. Temah Lodge #151, Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Travis Sanders, Joe Sanders, Jr., Gerald Sanders, Dedrick Stuckey, Sr., Cedric Phillips and James Oglesby.

Mrs. Cellie Sharpe, age 93, died November 15, 2003, in the Bethany Nursing Home of Vidalia.
Survivors include one brother, Leonard Smith, Jr., High Point, N.C.; and one god-daughter, Johnnie Mae Dasher, Johnson Corner.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 122, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Greater Rocky Creek Baptist Church of Johnson Corner. Interment followed in the Oakey Grove Cemetery of Johnson Corner.

Mrs. Gather Kellam Singleton, age 90, died Saturday, November 15, 2003, at her residence.
She was a native of Laurens County. She was a member of the Mosleytown Church of God in Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Sr.; five brothers and sisters, Willie, Paul, Mose, Jr., Lourine and James.
Survivors include five daughters, Beatrice Hart, Katerine Butler, Ruby Mae Williams, Betty Jean Singleton and Viola Corouthers, all of Vidalia, five sons, Leroy, Sr., Eugene, Walter, Eddie Lee and Leroy Smith, all of Vidalia; three daughters-in-law, Lorene and Norma, both of Vidalia, and Jean Singleton, Jacksonville, Florida; one son-in-law, Lester Williams, Vidalia, one sister-in-law, Estelle Smith, Vidalia; 49 grandchildren; 84 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, November 23, 2003, at 3:00 p.m. in the Harvestime Faith Center, Vidalia, with Roy Lee Williams officiating. Interment followed in the East Park Cemetery, Vidalia.
