Mr. Eugene Franklin Bellamy of Vidalia died Saturday, February 26, 2005, at his residence.
He was born on November 1, 1937, in Montgomery County, to the late Pearlie and Beatrice McKinze.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Bellamy of Vidalia; one son, Anthony (Wendy) Woodrow Bellamy of Lyons; one daughter, Nicole Bellamy of Vidalia; two sisters, Hattie Toler of Brunswick, and Lessie Mae (Dock) Corbett of Vidalia; eight grandchildren; five brothers-in-law, Supt. Jimmy (Louise) Hall, Charles (March) Hall, Joseph (Cynthia) Hall, Roosevelt (Marcella) Hall, of Vidalia, George Hall of Folkston; three sister-in-law, Willie Mae (Jimmy) Blaine of Clairmont, Fla., Dorothy Jackson, and Rachael Jackson, both of Vidalia; and two goddaughters, Louise McARae Hall, and Toddashia Walker, both of Vidalia.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 5, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in Vidalia Funeral Home with the Rev. Miller officiating.

Ms. Rhodeva Calhoun died Monday, March 21, 2005.
She was born October 14, 1935, to the late Meney Jane Robinson and Ishmael Troope. She received her formal education and graduated from high school in Glenwood.
Survivors include seven children and spouses: Billy Calhoun, Jr., of San Diego, Ca., Cynthia Calhoun and Emmit Carrol of Bakersfield, Ca., Donnie Calhoun of El Cajon, Ca., Bonnie Calhoun and Clifton Cloyd of Gary, Ind., and Tony Calhoun, Christophes Calhoun, and Demarcus Calhoun, all of El Cajon; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 2, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Time Faith Center with Dr. Bernard Hill officiating. Burial was in Eternal Glory Gardens in Vidalia.

Mr. Andrew Gaffney, Jr., of Lyons, died Thursday, March 17, 2005.
The Tombs County native was a logger. He had served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.
He was married to Altheria Hart Gaffney, and the couple had six children: three sons and daughters-in-law, Orland and Roseane Gaffney, and Arizona Wayne Gaffney, of Lyons, and David Andrew and Darlene Gaffney, of Charleston, S.C.; three daughters, Marva Salem and Gloria Nichols of Vidalia,a nd Felicia Gaffney of Jonesboro; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 26, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. in the Harvest Time Faith Center in Vidalia. Burial followed in Oakey Grove Cemetery in Lyons.

Mrs. Thirteal Hunt, Lyons, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, James Hunt of Lyons; three children and spouses: Mrs. Altheria Gaffney, Mae Doneal and Gene Jones, Lyons, Shirley and Billey Brooks, Montgomery, Ala.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 27, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Greater Rocky Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Lewis, Jr., officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Estelle Collins Gay Joiner, age 84, East Dublin, died Friday, April 1, 2005, at her residence following a brief illness.
The Toombs county native had lived in East Dublin 29 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Faith Christian Assembly in East Dublin.
Survivors include one daughter, Ronnie Sue Gay Dixon and her husband J.C. of East Dublin; one son, Curtis W. Gay, Sr., and his wife, annie Ruth , of Lyons; four grandchildren, Linda Sue Bridges of Dublin, Curtis Gay, Jr. of Lyons, and James David Gay and Carrie Ann Nease of Guyton; seven grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 3, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with the reverend Douglas Bridges and the Reverend James D. Covington officiating. Interment followed in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Aaron and Phillip Graham, Frank Surine, Stephen Purser, Greg Crabb, David Gay, Curtis Gay, Jr., and Powell Collins. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Browning, Tony Oliver, Larry Purser, Charles Kight and Kenneth Sturling.

Mr. Jessie Willie McCloud died Thursday, March 24, 2005.
He was born on November 18, 1917 to the late Willie McCloud and Alberta Huffin. He was a native of Toombs County and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law Mrs. Daisy and Tommy Tillman of Lyons; two friends, Hattie Jones and John Ridgedill of Vidalia; one sister-in-law Mattie Mitchell of Swainsboro; and nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Kingdom Hall on Monday, March 28, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. Burial was in the Piney Green Cemetery in Lyons.

Mrs. Myrtice Irene Soles Ryle, age 74, formerly of Vidalia, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at the Bethany Home Nursing Center after an extended illness.
The Montgomery County native was a homemaker and attended the Bible Baptist Church in Vidalia.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lee Ryle and Patricia Ann Ryle, both of Augusta; three sisters, Mary Frances Rewis, Margie L. bellflower, and Edna Eulene Bacon, all of Vidalia; one brother, Wilbur Riley Soles of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 31, 2005, at 11:00 p.m. in the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with the Reverend Raymond Burrell officiating. Interment followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta.

Ms. Laura Mae Higgs Ullrich, age 92, of Angier, N.C., died March 29, 2005.
She was a native of Collins and a member of Collins Full Gospel Tabernacle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, August Ullrich; a son Ray L. Patterson; a son-in-law, Ronald L. Thompson; five sisters, Leona Higgs Phillips Thompson, Minnie Higgs Cowart, Fannie Higgs Burte, Alma Higgs Jarriel, and Jewell Higgs Burroughs; and four brothers, Floyd Higgs, R.J.Higgs, Bufurd Higgs, and Vernie Higgs.
Survivors include one daughter, Oretha “Patty” Patterson Thompson of Angier; a daughter-in-law, Gail Patterson of Deltona, Fla.; grandchildren: Katrina Thompson Coleman and husband Michael of Angier, Michael R. Patterson and wife Kerry of Davie, Fla., Darryl D. Thompson and wife Renee of Benson, N.C., Beth Ann Patterson Myers and husband Steve of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Kimberlee Patterson Montes and husband Carlos of Plantation, Fla.; step-grandchildren, David Hicks and Wayne Brown of Fla; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren; two sister-in-law, Jean Higgs of Fla., and Diane Higgs of Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 2, 2005, at 2:00 in the chaple of Jones-Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Andrew Nelms officiating. Interment followed in the Odom cemetery.
Pallbearers were Corley Burroughs, Larry Higgs, Charlie Jarriel, Ronnie Phillips, Adam Thompson, and Paul Thompson.

Mrs. Eunice C. Ussery, age 90, of Alamo, died Monday, March 28, 2005, at Bethany Home Nursing Center after a brief illness.
The native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Alamo.
Survivors include two daughters: Peggy Smith of Macon, and Wanda Moss of Duncan, S.C.; one son, Fred Ussery of Alamo; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Alamo with Dr. Robert Woodall and Dr. Ben McFather officiating. Interment followed in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
