Mrs. Barbara Flowers Copeland, age 71, Obituary
[Reidsville, Tattnall County, Georgia]
Mrs. Barbara Flowers Copeland, age 71, died Thursday, November 3, 2005, in the Tattnall Health Care of Reidsville following an extended illness.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County. She was an employee of Toombs Manufacturing for 33 years as a machine operator. She was a member of Hammonds Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eschol Copeland, one grandson, Jeremy Copeland, and her parents, Bert and Birdie Flowers.
Survivors include, one daughter, Tarvis Copeland, Lyons; one son, Walter Copeland, Burley, Indiana; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Yvonne and Richard Clark, Lyons, and Juanita Copeland, Conyers; brother, Jim Paul Flowers, Lyons; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, November 6, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. in the Jones-Stewart Funeral Home Chapel of Lyons with Rev. Ron Rollins officiating. Interment followed in Long Pond Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Richard Clark, Rocky Flowers, Chris Flowers, David Hutcheson, Kenny Burton and Kenneth Morris.

Mr. Lake McDonald, age 88, Obituary
[Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia]
Mr. Lake McDonald, age 88, Vidalia, died Monday, October 31, 2005, in the Bethany Nursing Center in Vidalia after an extended illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County. He was president and owner of Lake McDonald, Inc., in Vidalia. He was a member of Center United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl M. McDonald, Vidalia; four sisters, Mary Sickterman, Venice, Fla., Juanita, Mann, Vidalia, Erleen Garr, Nashville, Tenn., and Lee Hoke, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was conducted Thursday, November 3, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Center United Methodist Church with Rev. James L. Scott and Rev. James Ellis Boyd officiating. Interment followed in Lakeview Memorial Gardens near Vidalia.

Active pallbearers were Chris, Joe, Lindy, Randy and Roger McDonald and Jonathan Garrett. Honorary pallbearers were William Anderson, Charlie Channel, Howard Farrow, Billy Garrett, Bobby Hall, Sweet Hughes, Ozell Johnson, Ancel Kersey, Clyde Tate, Clyde Thompson, Bobby Joe Williamson, Edward “Buddy” Williamson and H.L. Williamson.

Rev. James F. Peacock, age 83
[Mt. Vernon, Montgomery County, Georgia]
Rev. James F. Peacock, age 83, Mt. Vernon, died Saturday, November 5, 2005, in the Community Hospice of Vidalia following a brief illness.
He was a native of Dodge County. He was a retired Baptist Minister and was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Peacock, Mt. Vernon; one son, Barry Peacock, Powder Springs; one daughter, Willa Jean Dupree, Lyons; three stepchildren, Herman Stewart and Nathan Stewart, both of Dublin, and Shirley Hood, Orange Park, Florida; five grandchildren, Charlotte Mathews, Jim Dupree, Lee Dupree, Shwan Dupree and Chris Peacock; five great grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Rev. James Peacock officiating. Interment followed in Plainfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Nick Mathews, Jim Dupree, Shawn Peacock, Darrell Butler, Thomas Martin and Lee Dupree.

Mr. Richard Levy Thompson, 62, Lyons, died Monday, October 31, 2005, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Lyons. He was a retired insurance agent. He was a member of the National Guard and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lyons. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include wife, Evelyn F. Thompson, Lyons; three daughters, Angela T. Jacobs, Andalusia, Alabama, Tina McDaniel, Lyons, and Dawn Owens, Darien, two sons, Craig Thompson, Glennville, and Jimmy McDaniel, Vidalia; one sister, Sherrie T. Moody, Atlanta; four grandchildren; and two nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, November 3, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church. Interment followed in Lyons City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cline and Sean Tootle, Ernie Stanfield, Robert Kraus, Speck Nobles, Glenn Spikes, Hubert Sowell and Al Lewis.

Mr. John A. “Boots” Williams, age 68, Obituary
[Waynesboro, Burke County, Georgia]
Mr. John A. “Boots” Williams, age 68, Waynesboro, died Monday, October 31, 2005, in Waynesboro following an extended illness.
He was a native of Toombs County, living several years in Montgomery County, and later moving to Jacksonville, Florida. He was employed with Williams Supply Company and Sea Island Cotton Gen in Vidalia. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and athlete.
Survivors: three daughters, Kathy Blanchard and Nancy Daniel, both of Waynesboro, and Carol Ann Williams, Jacksonville; one son, John A. Williams, Jr., Jacksonville, two grandchildren; and two aunts.
Graveside services were conducted Wednesday, November 2, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. in Pinecrest Cemetery with Rev. Don Moye officiating. Interment followed.
Pallbearers were jack, James and David Thompson, Ed Smith, Theron Conner and James Wilson.
