WAYNESBORO, Ga.-Mrs. Elaine Wrenn Dickey, 84, beloved wife of Charles Edward Dickey, went peacefully to be with our Lord in everlasting life on Sunday, May 23, 2004 , at St. Joseph Hospital in Augusta, Ga. A native of Toombs County and the daughter of Remer and Annie Findley Wrenn, Elaine was one of eleven children who grew up in Tattnall County. The family's strong faith helped them to survive the difficult years of the Great Depression. She lived her adult life in Waynesboro as a homemaker and employee of the Anthony Wayne Hotel. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, since 1944. Survivors by her marriage in 1942 to Lonnie McNorrill include one daughter, Janice McNorrill Johnson, Waynesboro and one son, Lonnie McNorrill Jr. Knoxville, Tenn., After Lonnie's death, Elaine married Charles Dickey. Lynn Dickey Dixon and Eddie Dickey are survivors, as well as six beloved grandchildren, Heather McNorrill, Jessica Dickey, Alishia Dickey, Ben Dic key, Paula Dickey Saxon and Elizabeth Dixon. Besides her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Her surviving sisters are Marjorie (Marge) Milligan, Charleston S. C., Penny Haag, Hendersonville, Tenn., May Templeton, McDonough, Ga., Joyce Collins and Glenda Inman, both of Lyons, Ga. Elaine will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt to many nieces and nephews and a friend to all who knew her. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 26, at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. G. Al Wright officiating. Service time will be 2 p.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening May 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be David Collins, Greg Boyette, Steven McNorrill, Preston Lewis III, Tommy Braswell, and Joey Phillips. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Joseph Hospice, 2260 Wrightsboro Rd. Augusta, Ga. 30904-4726. Services entrusted to DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home, 842 Liberty Street , Waynesboro, Ga., (706)554-3531.
