Esther Lurline Gillis Obituary

Swainsboro, Emanuel County, Georgia - Esther Lurline Gillis, 93, died Thursday, January 30, 2003.

Mrs. Gillis was a native of Treutlen County and was a daughter of the late William Linton and Leila Toler Kitchens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred B. Gillis. She had been a resident of Swainsboro for 53 years and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and Faith Sunday School Class. She was a former member of Harmony Baptist Church near Soperton.

Survivors: three sons, Charles Gillis of Shellman Bluff, Franklin Gillis of Swainsboro and Lamon Gillis of Millen; a daughter, Joyce Williams of Swainsboro; a sister, Billie K. Hood of Kite; a brother, Colon Kitchens of Vidalia; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p. m. Friday at Peeples-Curry-Durden Mortuary in Swainsboro.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a. m. Saturday in Harmony Baptist Church.
