W. B. "Bill" Rhoden
W. B. "Bill" Rhoden, 88, died Friday, September 6, 2002, at Toombs County Nursing Home. The Tattnall County native was former owner of the Jesup Sentinel newspaper for almost 30 years. He was a former Kiwanian, had taught men's and ladies' Sunday School classes, served on the Methodist Board of Stewards, and was a member of Cobbtown United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Rhoden of Cobbtown, Georgia; a daughter and son-in-law, Dottie R. and Jack Hicks of Cobbtown; a sister, Marion Carmichael of Swainsboro, Georgia; and grandchildren and spouses, Derek and Elizabeth Bailey of Quantico, Virginia, and Shandra and Randall Montague of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 8, at Cobbtown United Methodist Church. Burial was in Sunlight Cemetery.
Kennedy-Morgan Funeral Home, Cobbtown Chapel, was in charge of the arrangements.
