Sheila McCoy Obituary


Sheila McCoy, 45, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at her residence following a long illness. She was a native of Toombs County and had lived in Tattnall County most of her life. She was a member of Abundant Faith Fellowship, and a homemaker.

She is survived by her father, Donald Thigpen of Gainesville, Florida; her mother, Jeanette Lynn of Reidsville, Georgia; two sons and one daughter-in-law, David and Amy Brown of Vidalia, Georgia, and James Kirkland of Reidsville; two sisters, Teila Toole and Veila Powell, both of Reidsville; one half sister, Margie Hicks of Florida; three brothers: Dennis Sapp of Reidsville; Wendell McCoy of Claxton, Georgia; and Charles Greer of Glennville; two half brothers, James Thigpen and David Thigpen, both of Florida; and one godgrandchild, Kaleigh Jenkins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel, with the Rev. Lester Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in Reidsville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 15, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Oliver, Tony Willis, Walter Driggers, Dustin Meeks, Chris Davis, Justin Powell, and Marty Mabey.

Cobb Funeral Home of Reidsville, Georgia, is in charge of the arrangements.
