Mr. Thomas J. Allen, 45, Obituary

Snellville, Gwinnett County, Georgia - Mr. Thomas J. Allen, age 45, of Snellville, Georgia, died May 9, 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan Joy Allen; sons, Joshua Thomas Allen, Stephen Thomas Allen; parents, James C. and Irene Allen of McRae; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diann and Dr. Ayo Bandele of Barnesville, Jenerra and Tirail Finklea of Palmetto, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Isaiahy and Faye Allen of Surrency; mother-in-law, Juanita H. Ashe of Peteluma, CA; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Allen was born in Vidalia, Georgia, and grew up in McRae. He was a 1978 graduate of Telfair County Comprehensive High School, a Suma Cum Laude graduate of Morris-Brown College where he received a B.S. Degree in Physical Education, and attained his Masters Degree in Education Administration form Georgia State College. He was a teacher and administrator in the Dekalb County School System for 21 years and served as Assistant Principal at Panola Elementary School and Rock Chapel Elementary School

Mr. Allen was a member of the Atlanta Church of Christ and spent his life serving as a mentor for young boys both at church and school. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son and friend who's greatest devotion in life was to Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 13 at 12 Noon at Annistown Road Baptist Church with the remains placed in state at 11A.M. Dr. Ayo Bandele and Evangelist Frank Davis will officiate. Interment will be held Saturday at 12 Noon at Spalding Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Alamo, Georgia.

Those desiring may make donations to Rock Chapel Relay For Life or Gwinnett Relay for Life in memory of Thomas Joshua Allen.
