The Rev. Ruby Dell Lambert, 77, Obituary

Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia - The Rev. Ruby Dell Lambert, 77, died Aug. 8 at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

She was born in Candler County and lived in Vidalia for many years. She attended Georgia public schools and was pastor of New Hope Mission Church of God in Christ in Lyons.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Donnie Griffin of Marietta; two sons, Willie Pickett and Alonzo Kirkland, both of Vidalia; four sisters, Maggie Mosley of Vidalia, Sarah Robinson of Jacksonville, Fla., Frinella Smith of Brooklyn, N.Y., and LaVera Wilson of Savannah; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. today at First African Baptist Church, burial in East Park Cemetery, Vidalia.

Mattie McCullough Mosley, 88, Obituary

Swainsboro, Emanuel County, Georgia - Mattie McCullough Mosley, 88, died Aug. 11 at Swainsboro Nursing Home.

She was a native of Emanuel County, a homemaker and a member of North Thompson Baptist Church, Vidalia.

SURVIVORS: four daughters, Edna Ruth Williams of Swainsboro, Mary Emmie Hutcheson of Soperton, Lotis Wilkerson of Midville and Elizabeth Joiner of Uvalda; four sons, Hodrick Mosley of Stillmore, Otis and Dan Mosley, both of Swainsboro, and Ray Mosley of Zellwood, Fla.; two sisters, Gladys Wilcher of Midville and Rosa Bell Kemp of Palatka, Fla.; and 34 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. today at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary, Swainsboro.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary, burial in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery near Metter.

Sgt. Stanley H. Whonic, 70, Obituary

Veteran

Jesup, Wayne County, Georgia - Sgt. Stanley H. Whonic, 70, died Aug. 12.

He was a Toombs County native and a resident of Wayne County the past 30 years. He retired as an Air Force Junior ROTC instructor at Wayne County High School. He was an Air Force veteran who served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was president of Wayne County Historical Society, secretary of Wayne County Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and a civic and community leader.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Winifred T. Whonic of Jesup; two sons, Stanley M. Whonic of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Edward Whonic of Dahlonega; a brother, Zigeman Whonic of Lyons; a sister, Katrina Drew of Williston, Fla.; and four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home, Jesup.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home, burial at 3 p.m. in Clifton Cemetery, Toombs County, with full military honors.

REMEMBRANCES: Wayne County Historical Society, 124 N.W. Broad St., Jesup, GA 31546.
