Claxton, Evans County, Georgia - Bennie I. Kersey, 60, died Aug. 18 at Evans Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Tattnall County and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy. He was a retired truck driver.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Mary C. Kersey of Claxton; five sons, Bennie R., Tony M., Larry and Rocky Kersey, all of Claxton, and Benjamin L. Kersey of Statesboro; a daughter, Lisa Thompson of Claxton; two stepsons, Robert D. Thigpen of Glennville and David Thigpen of Reidsville; two brothers, Carson Kersey of Cobbtown and David Kersey of Lyons; five sisters, Thelma Tilton of Pooler, Shirley Godbee, Donnie Thompson, Joannie Joyner and Carolyn Carlish, all of Lyons; and nine grandchildren.
FUNERAL: 4 p.m. today at NeSmith Funeral Home, Claxton, burial in Cedar Creek Cemetery.

Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia - Jerry Eugene Waters, 23, died Aug. 18 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah.
He was born in Laurens County and was a resident of Vidalia most of his life. He was a restaurant manager at Captain's Corner in Vidalia.
SURVIVORS: his parents, Gary E. and Gail M. Waters of Vidalia; a brother, Guy Keene of Vidalia; his maternal grandmother, Betty C. McDaniel of Vidalia; and his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Geneva Waters of Vidalia.
VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Murchison Funeral Home in Vidalia.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Friday at Vidalia Church of God, burial in Waters Cemetery in Emanuel County.
