VIDALIA, Georgia - Pauline Elizabeth Shuman Gillis, 73, died June 9 at Meadows Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Evans County and lived most of her life in Vidalia. She was a homemaker and a member of Smith Street Baptist Church in Vidalia.

SURVIVORS: two daughters, Karen Summerville of Savannah and Sara Caraway of Lyons; a son, Gary E. Gillis of Vidalia; and two sisters, Doris Oliver of Savannah and Etna Kohler of Marietta.

FUNERAL: 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Smith Street Baptist Church, burial in Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Vidalia.

TOWNSEND, McIntosh COUNTY, GEORGIA - Russell Gore, 70, died June 8 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.

He was born in Toombs County and lived in McIntosh County for 30 years. He moved to Townsend from Palatka, Fla. He retired from Escambia with 22 years of service.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Hazel T. Gore of Townsend; three daughters, Laurel Milici and Sue Dykstra, both of Brunswick, and Lavonia Wallace of Shellman Bluff; five sons, Russell L. Gore of Townsend, Roger Gore of Columbus, Darryl Gore of Waynesville, Mitchell Gore of Cox and Jimbo Gore of Albany; eight grandchildren, a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL: was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Chapman Funeral Chapel, Brunswick.
