Billy J. Griffin, Sr. Obituary

Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia - Billy J. Griffin, Sr., 63, died June 12 at Candler Hospital.

He was a native of Glennville and a resident of Savannah for 44 years. He was retired from Georgia Pacific after 44 years and was a longtime member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Myrtle Griffin of Savannah; sons, Billy J. Griffin Jr. of Glenwood and Bryan Griffin of Savannah; daughter, Barbara Lee Miller of Savannah; brother, William S. Griffin of Savannah; sisters, Betty Bazemore, Lillian Banks and Mary Sue Pierce, all of Glennville, and Shirley White of Lyons; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-9 today at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Massey Chapel in Garden City.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Sunday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Massey Chapel.

BURIAL: 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Glennville City Cemetery in Glennville.

Russell Gore Obituary

COLLINS, TATTNALL COUNTY, GEORGIA - Marjorie Coats Mobley, 74, died June 11.

She was a native of Tattnall County and a homemaker. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church No. 1 in Glennville, the Collins Burial Society and Order of Eastern Star Society.

SURVIVORS: daughters, Irene Mayner Collins and Idonia Butler, both of Savannah, Joann Bell of Jamaica, N.Y., and Marie Harris of Orangeburg, S.C.; sons, Willie E. Mobley of Detroit, and Henry and Tony Mobley, both of Savannah; sisters, Nina Arnold, Helen Collins and Eudell Vinson, all of Detroit; brother, Marion Coats of Inkster, Mich.; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL: 3 p.m. today at Mount Zion Baptist Church No. 1, burial in Oakey Cemetery Lyons.
