J.D. Cantrell Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - J.D. Cantrell, 74, died Jan. 19.

He was a native of Cherokee County. He was a retired postal contractor and Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of East Gordon Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Mollie Cantrell of Lyons; a daughter, Teresa Sullivan of Ellijay; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Thursday at East Gordon Street Baptist Church, burial in Lakeview Memorial.

Jones-Stewart Funeral Home of Lyons.

Maude Collins Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Maude Collins, 92, died Jan. 18 at Statesboro Nursing Home.

She was a homemaker and operated Collins Market in Lyons more than 30 years. She was a emeritus member of Easter Star, a member of Leck Strader Sunday School Class and First United Methodist Church of Lyons.

SURVIVORS: a nephew, William Earl Collins Sr. of Lyons; a niece, Hazel Stewart of Augusta; three great-nephews and a great-great-niece.

FUNERAL: 1 p.m. today at Jones-Stewart Funeral Service in Lyons, burial in Lyons City Cemetery.

REMEMBRANCES: First United Methodist Church Children's Fund.
