Dewitt Holland, Sr. Obituary

Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia - Dewitt Holland, Sr., 78, died Oct. 27 at Meadows Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Emanuel County and lived in Vidalia many years. He attended the Georgia public schools. He was a truck driver and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Tabernacle of Deliverance Church in Lyons.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Edna Jean Holland of Vidalia; four children, Dewitt Holland Jr. of Atlanta, David Holland of Miami, Debra Holland and Emma Holland, both of Lyons; nine stepchildren, James Adams and Joann Thomas, both of Savannah, David Adams, Nathaniel Adams, Dennis Adams, Eugene Adams, Nora Lawton and Donnie Gardner, all of Vidalia and Charles Adams of Atlanta; two brothers, David Holland of Perry, Fla., and Clarence Holland of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three sisters, Annie Lou Holland of Orange, N.J., Annie Grace of Miami and Valerie Howard of Savannah; eight grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

VISITATION: beginning today at Vidalia Funeral Home in Vidalia.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Sunday at First African Baptist Church, Vidalia, burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery, McGregor.

Estelle Meeks Waters Obituary

Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia - Estelle Meeks Waters, 78, of Normantown community died Oct. 29 at home.

She was born in Emanuel County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Pendleton Creek Church of God.

SURVIVORS: a son, Owen O. Waters of Vidalia; three brothers, W.R. Meeks of Cocoa, Fla., Noah Farmer of Vidalia and Otis Farmer Jr. of Lyons; seven sisters, Alma Coleman, Martha Delaigle, Edith Odom, Maudry Partin and Marjorie Davis, all of Lyons, Sallie Tyson of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Celeste Warren of Vidalia; and two grandchildren.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Ronnie L. Stewart & Son Funeral Service, Vidalia.

FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Pendleton Creek Church of God, burial in Waters Cemetery near Vidalia.
