Mount Vernon, Montgomery County, Georgia - Carrie C. Burnett, 81, died Nov. 26 at Meadows Nursing Center in Vidalia.
She was a native of Montgomery County and a presser (dry cleaners).
SURVIVORS: a sister, Bessie Flowers of New York City; a brother, John Sibert of Akron, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Brown of Miami; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be today at Vidalia Funeral Home in Vidalia.
FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday at Vidalia Funeral Home, burial in Live Oak Cemetery in Ailey.

Orlando, Brevard County, Florida - Ross E. Collins died Nov. 27 at home.
The native of Emanuel County, Ga., grew up in Toombs County, Ga. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service and the state of Florida Board of Education. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Medal of Good Conduct. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Conway and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Faye Sharpe Collins of Orlando; three daughters, Belinda Strickland, Jimmie Fay Raye and Marie Collins, all of Orlando; two sons, Larry Strickland and Ross E. Collins Jr., both of Orlando; a sister, Mamie Jo Collins of St. Augustine; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five nieces and three nephews.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. today at Murchison Funeral Home, Vidalia, burial in Lyons City Cemetery with full military honors.
