Elmer Collins, Sr. Obituary

Plainfield, Union County, New Jersey - Elmer Collins, Sr., 75, died Sept. 5 at JFK Hospital in Edison, N.J.

He was a native of Tattnall County, and lived in New Jersey since 1946. He was an auto assembler of General Motors in New Jersey, retiring after 31 years.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Velma Marie Collins of Plainfield, N.J.; five daughters, Shirley, Susan and Crystal Collins, all of Plainfield, Christine McCrae of Atlanta, and Jeannie L. Williams of Greenbrook, N.J.; three sons, Elmer Collins Jr., Alphonzo George Collins and Jessie Eric Collins, all of Plainfield; six sisters, Frankie Collins of Orange, N.J., Cleather Parrish of Newark, N.J., Erma Sharpe of Miami, Thelma Hart of Opa-Locka, Fla., Betty Jean Collins of Vidalia, and Dorothy Waller of Lyons; four brothers, Johnnie Collins of Miami, the Rev. Joseph V. Collins of Lyons, and Charles and Clevon Collins, both of Newark; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: 7-8 p.m. today at Vidalia Funeral Home in Vidalia.

FUNERAL: 3 p.m. Sunday at Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Lyons, burial in Oakey Grove Cemetery in Johnson Corner.

Mrs. Mattie Mae Lockley Taylor Obituary

HAZLEHURST, JEFF DAVIS COUNTY, GEORGIA - Mrs. Mattie Mae Lockley Taylor, 84, died Sept. 7 at Brian Center Nursing Care.

She was a native of Tattnall Conty and a resident of Jeff Davis County for the past 40 years. She was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church, and a homemaker. She was the widow of Clifton M. Taylor.

SURVIVORS: five step-children, Tillman J. Taylor of Savannah, Winette Carver of Alma, Comer C. Taylor of Alva, Fla., Eloyse Harper of Fernandina, Fla., and Burtis Taylor Sr., of Hazlehurst; step-grandson, Dewayne Taylor of Hazlehurst; two sisters-in-law, Flora Belle Lockley of Lyons and Beatrice Lockley of Vidalia; and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: 4 p.m. today at the Philadelphia Baptist Church, burial in the church cemetery.
