Mrs. Jimmie Durden Blocker, 85, Obituary

Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia - Mrs. Jimmie Durden Blocker, 85, died Jan. 1 at a Dublin hospital.

The native of Treutlen County was the widow of T.A. Blocker. She was a retired co-owner and operator of T.A. Blocker's General Store in Montgomery County.

SURVIVORS: a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Carolyn Blocker of Vidalia; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jackie and Terry Rowe and Angie and Mark McKie, all of Vidalia; and two great-grandchildren, Stuart McKie and Brooke McKie, both of Vidalia.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sammons Funeral Home, burial in Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, Montgomery County.

Mrs. Alice McCorkle Coleman, 99, Obituary

Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia - Mrs. Alice McCorkle Coleman, 99, died Dec. 31 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.

The native of Crowley, La., lived in Toombs County since 1923. She was a homemaker and a member of Vidalia Presbyterian Church.

SURVIVORS: two sons, Moses Matthews Coleman Jr. of Vidalia and Dan B. Coleman of Lyons; five grandchildren, Kathleen, Steven, Beverly and Larry D. Coleman, all of Vidalia, and Moses M. Coleman III of Valdosta; 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11 a.m. today in Lyons City Cemetery.

Mrs. Lillian Irene Powell Fountain Obituary

Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia - Mrs. Lillian Irene Powell Fountain died Dec. 30 at home.

She was a native of Toombs County and a resident of the county most of her life. She was a homemaker and attended Marietta Freewill Baptist Church near Lyons.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Roy Lee Fountain of Vidalia; two daughters, Connie Sue Harrelson of Lyons and Loree Gail Colson of Vidalia; a son, Michael Harrelson of Lyons; four sisters, Evelle Lewis of Reidsville, Alma Morris of Savannah, Virginia Shaffer of Cotopaxi, Colo., and Ethel Cliffton of Lyons; two brothers, Henry Powell Jr. of Lyons and Buddy Powell of Pembroke; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

SERVICE: 2 p.m. today at Murchison Funeral Home, Vidalia, burial in Reidsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Malder Hall Sanders, 80, Obituary

Brunswick, Glynn County, Georgia - Mr. Malder Hall Sanders, 80, died Dec. 31 at the Burn Center of Doctors Hospital in Augusta.

The native of Lyons lived in Glynn County most of his life. He was a member of Pine Haven Baptist Church and retired from Glynn County Public Works.

SURVIVORS: a sister, Ila Mae Abbott of Brunswick; and a number of nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home, Brunswick.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palmetto Cemetery, Brunswick.
