Alfred M. Edenfield, 87 Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Alfred M. Edenfield, 87, died June 16 at Meadows Regional Medical Center, Vidalia.

The Emanuel County native was a longtime resident of Toombs County. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from construction. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Mount Shady Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: a sister, Christine E. Coleman of Lyons; three brothers, Lloyd E., Mandel M. and Runt Edenfield all of Lyons; a daughter-in-law, Sue Edenfield of Lyons; a stepson, Hugh C. Tomlin of Vidalia; a stepgrandson, Timmons Tomlin of Hampton, Va. ; several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Jones-Stewart Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Jones-Stewart Funeral Home, burial in Lyons City Cemetery.

Richard Madison "Dick" Rice, 68, Obituary

Afton, Virginia - Richard Madison "Dick" Rice, 68, died June 15 at Beth Sholom Home in Richmond.

The Vidalia, Ga., native was a graduate of Georgia Tech and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired in 1997 from Reynolds Metals after 38 years as a mechanical engineer. He was a past president of Stuarts Draft Sportsman Club.

SURVIVORS: his wife of 46 years, Evelyn V. Rice of Afton; a son and daughter-in-law, David K. and Anne T. Rice of Richmond; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy R. Myers and Kenneth A. Myers Jr. of Richmond; his stepmother, Mary Baker Rice of Vidalia; three sisters, Jane Pickren and Elizabeth Goode of Vidalia and Claudia R. Walton of Atlanta; two brothers, Allen C. Rice and David R. Rice, both of Vidalia; a granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 7-8 p.m. today at McDow Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Va.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Tuesday at McDow Funeral Home, burial in Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro, Va.

Jewell A. Wynn, 58, Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Jewell A. Wynn, 58, died June 17 at Toombs Nursing Home in Lyons.

The lifelong resident of Toombs County was a former employee of Oxford of Vidalia. She was a member of Smyrna United Methodist Church near Uvalda.

SURVIVORS: a sister, Jean NeeSmith of Darien; two brothers, Larry Wynn of Welika, Fla., and Ronnie Wynn of Santa Claus; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Services, Vidalia.

FUNERAL: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Smyrna United Methodist Church, burial in Hardens Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.
