Mr. Cecil Sparks Obituary

Portal, Bulloch County, Georgia - Mr. Cecil Sparks, 78, died Friday, December 27, 2002 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County and was retired from Brooks-Emerson and Cooper Wiss. Mr. Sparks was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Pinegrove Baptist Church.

Survivors: his wife, Irene Morris Sparks of Portal; three sons, Gregory Sparks of Bamberg, South Carolina, Cecil Ronny Sparks of Brooklet, and Ivey Miller, Jr. of Brooklet; three daughters, Inez Conner of Statesboro, Peggy McDonald of Vidalia, and Holly Ann Sparks of Bamberg, South Carolina; one sister, Irma Collins of Portal; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00 p. m. at Hodges-Turner-Anderson Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Sparks will be held Sunday at 2:00 p. m. in the Chapel of Hodges-Turner-Anderson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Johnny Sparks, Ronny Sparks, Jr., Steven Miller, Shawn Conner, Carl Sparks, Bennie Collins, Jimmy Boyd, and Stephen Rowe.

Burial: Bulloch Memorial Gardens.

Ivene Cave Stefanik Obituary

Punta Gorda, Charlotte County, Florida and Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Ivene Cave Stefanik, died Wednesday, December 25, 2002 at her home, surrounded by her immediate family.

Mrs. Stefanik was born August 13, 1921 in Toombs, County, GA. She moved to Punta Gorda in 1989. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross while her husband served in the United States Air Force.

Survivors: her husband of 47 years, Col. Robert A. Stefanik, whom she met and married in Savannah; her only child and daughter, Ivy Cave Bigbee of Fairfax, VA; grandchildren: Anthony James Bigbee and Adam John Bigbee of VA; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Matthew Bigbee and twins, Meredith Lee and James Anthony Bigbee; and a profoundly mourning, extended family.

Visitation: 10:00 a. m.- until the hour of the service, Monday, December 30 at the Episcopal Church of the Annunciation.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p. m. Monday, December 30, Episcopal Church of the Annunciation in Vidalia with Father Ron Sutherland officiating.

Burial: Cave Family Cemetery near Lyons.

Robert Felton Young Obituary

Collins, Tattnall County, Georgia - Robert Felton Young, 91, of Collins, died Wednesday, December 25, 2002 at his granddaughters home in Vidalia.

Due to the snow in New England, funeral arrangements are pending the arrival of his daughter from New Hampshire.
