Mrs. Mattie S. Gordy, 85, Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Mrs. Mattie S. Gordy, 85, died Monday in the Meadows Regional Medical Center of Vidalia after an extended illness.

A native of Tattnall County, she lived most her life in Toombs County. She was a homemaker and a member of Marietta Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors: sons, Vernon Gordy of Rincon, and Jack and Bobby Gordy of Lyons; daughter, Gloria Key of Lyons; four grandsons; one granddaughter; five great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p. m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a. m. Thursday, from the Chapel of Jones-Stewart Funeral Home of Lyons with Rev. Earl Wiggins and Rev. Irvin Murphy officiating.

Burial: Lyons City Cemetery.

Mrs. Nolie Williamson Kight, 93, Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Mrs. Nolie Williamson Kight, 93, died Monday, Dec. 31 at Effingham County Extended Care.

A lifelong resident of Toombs County, she lived in Ohoopee for 65 years. She was a member of the Ohoopee Baptist Church since 1947.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Iris Kight Ward in 1999.

Survivors: daughters and husbands, Eloise and Raymond Rolison of Ohoopee, Winnifred and Roy Daring of Rincon, Wilma Davis of Guyton, and Virginia and Van Boone of Pembroke; son-in-law, Trenton Ward of Bloomingdale; sisters-in-law, Lavada Kight Curl of Tampa, FL and Mabel Kight Williamson of Ohoopee; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and seven step grandchildren.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p. m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Funeral Services: 3:00 p. m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Murchison Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial: Ohoopee Cemetery.

Mr. Rex Edward Rhodes, Jr., 38, Obituary

Gracewood, Richmond County, Georgia - Mr. Rex Edward Rhodes, Jr., 38, died Dec. 31 at Medical College of GA, Augusta.

A native of Toombs County, he was preceded in death by his father, Rex Edward Rhodes, Sr.

Survivors: mother, Beth B. Rhodes of Vidalia; sisters, Lee Rhodes Rish and Lyn Rhodes Akins both of Lyons.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a. m. Thursday, Jan. 3, from Murchison Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Grady Walden officiating.

Burial: Lakeview Memorial Gardens near Vidalia.
