Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia - Rev. Wilbur Allyn Ellenwood, 85, passed away Friday, September 20, 2002.
Rev. Ellenwood was born in Collins, GA, on September 4, 1917, to the late Henry McGillis Ellenwood and the late Lois Walling Ellenwood.
Rev. Ellenwood was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served during World War II, and was a member of the Griffin Second Baptist Church.
Rev. Ellenwood had been a Pastor for over 60 years in Florida and Georgia.
Some of his churches include the Union Baptist Church in Griffin, Highland Baptist in Griffin as Interim Pastor, First Baptist Church of Glenwood, Normantown Baptist in Lyons, and Wilder Memorial Baptist Church in Savannah.
Survivors: his wife of 56 years, Martha M. Ellenwood; daughters, Julia Ellenwood of Griffin and Lois Hall of Griffin; sons, W. A. Ellenwood, Jr., of Jackson and Steve Ellenwood of Bluffton, SC; brother, Luther Walling Ellenwood of Greensboro; grandchildren, Robert Hall, Stephen Hall, and Jared Ellenwood; and great-grandson, Austin Ellenwood.
The Funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home in Griffin.
Burial: Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Jackson.
