Glennville, Tatnall County, Georgia - Robert Pete Hallman, 69, died Thursday, August 28, 2003 at Toombs Nursing Home after an extended illness.
The Tattnall County native was retired after 25 years from Schreiner College in Kerrville, TX as Professor of English where he served as chairman of the English department for 15 years. He taught at Brewton Parker College for several years and was a U.S. Air Forcde Veteran and a member of Mendes Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Hallman, step-sister, Lucille Waters, and brother, Jewette Waters.
Survivors: brothers and sisters-in-law, Edwin and Ernestine Hallman, of Snellville, Marquette and Mary Frances Waters of Glennville;sister, Novis Clifton of Townsend; sister-in-law, Ohma Waters of Snellville; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation: 2:00 - 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2003 at Carter Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Services: 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Carl Ledbetter officiating.
Burial: Mendes Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date.
Remembrances: Alzheimers Association.

Milledgeville, Baldwin County, Georgia - Louise Conley Rabun, 89, formerly of the Marvin Community, Lyons died Thursday, August 28, 2003.
Graveside Services: were 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 29, 2003 in Marvin United Methodist church Cemetery with Dr. Max Hill officiating.

Tarrytown, Montgomery County, Georgia - Dovie Lee Warnock Rivers, 79, died Thursday, August 28, 2003 in the Fairview Park Hospital of Dublin.
Mrs. rivers was a native of Montgomery County residing most of her life in Treutlen County. She was Postmaster of Tarrytown from 1970 until 1980, a housewife and beloved mother, a former Club Scout leader and substitute teacher in the Treutlen County School system, and a devout member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by six brothers: Felton, Estus, Julius, Bennie, Emerson, and Eschol (Bill) Warnock and one sister: Ethel McCaw.
Survivors: husband of 61 years, Melmoth G. Rivers Sr. of Tarrytown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Homer and Martha Rivers of Tarrytown and Mel and Aurelia Rivers Jr. of Commerce; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan rivers and Curtis Dyer of Helen/Sautee; two sisters, Nellie Cook of Cayce, SC and Joye Riner of Lawrenceville, GA; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2003 from the Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service chapel of Vidalia with Rev. Dale Fincher and Rev. Keith Tipton officiating.
Burial: Glenwood City Cemetery.
