Rosa Lee Walker Allen Obituary

Uvalda, Montgomery Co, Georgia - Rosa Lee Walker Allen 98, died Monday, December 29, 2003 in Meadows Nursing Center of Vidalia after an extended illness.

She was a native of Montgomery County, living all of her life in the area. She was a homemaker, the oldest living member of Alston Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Allen and two son, Melvin and Billy Allen.

Mrs. Allen is survived by three daughters, Pauline Odom of Altamonte Springs, Florida; betty Morris of Uvalda and Barbara Hart of Alston; four sons, R. J. Allen of Vidalia, M.L. Allen of Garden City, Royce Allen of Vidalia and Jerry Allen of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one sister, Susie Wall of Augusta; twenty grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services: 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2003 in the Chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with Reverend Car l Harrell and Reverend K. C. Seabury officiating.

Burial: Lyons City Cemetery.

Remembrances: Alston Baptist Church Building Fund, Alston, Georgia.

Helen Mason Obituary

Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia - Helen Mason 55, died Monday, December 8, 2003.

Survivors: son, Billy Joe Brown; daughter, Tracy Dupont; and others.

Funeral Services: 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Uvalda Methodist Church.

Burial: Uvalda City Cemetery.

Jimmy Lee "Peanut" Mikell, Jr. Obituary

Stillmore, Emanuel County, Georgia - Jimmy Lee "Peanut" Mikell, Jr. 74, of Savannah, Georgia, a retired United Methodist Church pastor, died Sunday afternoon, December 7, 2003, at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center under the care of Hospice Savannah.

He was the son of a United Methodist minister and was himself a retired Methodist minister. Reverend Quillian was a graduate of Piedmont College and of Emory University, Candler School of Theology.

Locally, he served as pastor of White Bluff United Methodist Church from 1964-1968, Vidalia First Methodist Church from 1975-1978, and Grace United Methodist Church from 1978-1981.

He is survived by his daughter, Abda Lee Quillian and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be private.
