Nancy Gertrude Lindsey Obituary

Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia - Nancy Gertrude Lindsey, 83, died Saturday, July 26, 2003. She was a native of Toombs County and lived in the Atlanta-Metro area for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilmer Lee Lindsey.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Bobby Spivey of Colbert; one brother, Billy G. Wilkes of Eatonton; Nettie Ruth Coward of Newington; three grandsons, Robert W. Spivey of Hull, Sheldon W. Spivey of Jefferson; and Brian K. Spivey of Fayetteville, N.C.; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m., Monday at Bridges Funeral Home.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, in the the Bridges Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial: 3:00 p.m., Forest Hill Cemetery in Forest Park, Ga. with the Rev. Brian James officiating.

Maxwell McCumbers Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Maxwell McCumbers, 60, died Saturday, July 26, 2003 in Lyons.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County and was an electrician.

Graveside Services: 2:00 p.m. Monday, in Cedar Crossing Cemetery.

Wilbur Hayes Phillips Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Wilbur Hayes Phillips, 73, died Saturday, July 26, 2003 in Tattnall Community Hospital after an extended illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County, a farmer, and a U.S. Army veteran serving in Japan.

Mr. Phillips is survived by two sisters, Ila Mae Harrell of Christianburg, Va. and Jenita Phillips of Lyons; brother, Earl Phillips of Lincolnton; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services: 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, at Mt. Moriah Methodist Church with Reverend Marshall Singletary officiating. Mr. Phillips will be taken to the residence at 11:00 a.m., Monday and will remain there until the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
