Mr. Roy Melvin Claxton Obituary

Uvalda, Montgomery County, Georgia - Mr. Roy Melvin Claxton, 60, died Sunday, June 15, 2003 in the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center of Dublin after an extended illness. Mr. Claxton was a native of Toombs County and resided most of his life in Toombs and Montgomery Counties. He was a retired carpenter; graduated from Savannah High School where he was active in ROTC; was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantrymans Badge, and Bronze Star Medal; and was Church of God by faith. He was preceded in death by his father, CB Claxton, and a brother, Tommy Claxton. Mr. Claxton is survived by his wife, Maxine Claxton of Uvalda; three stepdaughters, Sue Ellen Sharpe of Uvalda, Debbie Fowler, and Elaine Conner, both of Reidsville; his mother, Emma Lou Claxton of Uvalda; brother, Ottis Claxton of Savannah; sister, Luann Yawn of Ellabell; and four step-grandchildren, Bruce Conner, Charles Conner, Chris Conner, and Rudy Fowler, all of Reidsville. Visitation: 7:00-9:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 3:00 p.m., Tuesday afternoon, June 17, at Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Rev. Bobby Toole officiating. Burial: Uvalda City Cemetery. Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service Vidalia.

Gladys "Tootsie" Lilliott Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Gladys "Tootsie" Lilliott, 90, died Sunday, June 15, 2003 at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County living there all of her life. She was a member of the Marvin United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, William S. Lilliott, Jr. and a sister, Marion Lilliott Slayton. Survivors: brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Jackie Lilliott of Lyons; sister, Isabel Henslee of Marietta; several nieces and nephews including, Mozelle and Irvin Pye and Jerry Lilliott, all of Lyons, and Marcel Lilliott of Manchester; great nieces and nephews, Travis and Tiffany Pye of Lyons and Rachel Lilliott of Manchester. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday June 18 at Marvin United Methodist Church with Dr. Max Hill and Reverend Bill Lee officiating. Mr. George H. White Obituary

Statesboro, Bulloch County, Georgia - Mr. George H. White, 61, died Sunday morning, June 15, 2003 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native of Emanuel County lived most of his life in Bulloch County. He was a self- employed contractor and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie N. White of Statesboro; two daughters, Angie Webb of Portal and Vickie Lynn White of Twin City; five sons, Stephen and Patricia White of Register, Hank and Pam Fielders of Punta Gorda, Fla., Rick Stacy White, Roger Earl White, and Roy James White, all of Statesboro; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Linda and Emmitt Rountree of Swainsboro, Martha and Jack Campbell of Vidalia, Vera Deal of Twin City, Annie Ruth and Joe Underwood of Twin City; three brothers, Grady White of Statesboro, Bill White of Camden, S.C., and John White of Twin City; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at Jake A. Futch Funeral Home with Elder Gary Johnson officiating. Burial: Brannen Family Cemetery. Jake A. Futch Funeral Home.
