Glennville, Tatnall County, Georgia - Lewis E. "Tar-baby" Edenfield, 67, died Saturday, May 17, 2003 at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.
The Emanuel County native had lived in Savannah many years moving to Glennville 17 years ago. He was a retired Truck Driver, a Korean War Veteran, and a member of Swainsboro Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by children, Robert Dewayne Reynolds and Kathy Winningham; a brother, A.G. Edenfield.
Survivors: wife, Vercille Edenfield of Glennville; daughters, Peggy Canady of Metter, Frankie James of Ridgeland, SC, Sue Strickland of Mocksville NC; sons, Dennis Reynolds of Glennville, George Edenfield of River Head, NY, Eddie Edenfield of NJ, James P. Edenfield of Greenville SC; sister, Louise Overstreet of Swainsboro; brother, Bob Edenfield of Glennville; 28 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 19 at Carter Funeral Chapel in Glennville.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20 at Carter Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michael Morgan officiating.
Burial: Lyons City Cemetery.
