Frances Nasworthy Brinson Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Frances Nasworthy Brinson, 77, of 2929 Johnson Corner Road, died Monday, October 13, 2003 at the Bethany Home Nursing Center after an extended illness.

She was native of Emanuel County, living in Toombs County for the past fifty nine years, was a homemaker and a member of the Sharpes Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors: husband, C. F. "Frank" Brinson of Lyons; two daughters, Karen Lillard of Lyons and Jackie Phillips of Uvalda; one son, Charles Brinson of Lyons; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Hugh Nasworthy of Kite, Paul Nasworthy of Pembroke and Gleen Nasworthy of Lyons and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 15, 2003 in the Chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with Reverend David Edenfield and Reverend Joe Phillips officiating.

Burial: Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

Reidsville, Tatnall County, Georgia - Youtha Ann Bryant, 80, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at Meadows Regional Medical Center, Vidalia.

Mother of Robert Bryant, Bobby Bryant, Brenda Bryant, Patrica Thomas.

Visitation: all day at the funeral home.

Funeral Services: 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Greater Zachariah Baptist Church, Glenville, GA. Burial: church cemetery.

Mrs. Bessie Fields Scott Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Mrs. Bessie Fields Scott, 97, of the Toombs Nursing Home Lyons, died Saturday morning after an extended illness.

A native of Johnson County, she lived most of her life in Toombs County. She was a homemaker and a member of the East Gordon Baptist Church of Lyons.

Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Loran Allen Scott and two sons, Sam Scott and louis Scott; six daughters, Louise Ingersol of Burleson, TX, Cuba Briggs of Guyton, Jean Gashaw of Ft. Gaines, GA, Ruby Rushing and May Powell both of Lyons, and Donna Johnson of Hagan; one daughter-in-law, Betty Scott of Lyons; two sons, Thomas Scott of Lyons and Mickey Scott of Vidalia; 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Fields Scott will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. from the East Gordon Baptist Church of Lyons with Rev. Darrell Harn and Rev. Jeff Rollins officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery near Swainsboro.

Miss Marie O'Neal Obituary

Ailey, Montgomery County, Georgia - Miss Marie ONeal, 88, died Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at the Bethany Home Nursing Center after a brief illness. She was a native of Montgomery County, living most of her life in Statesboro, was a graduate of Brewton-Parker College and received her Masters Degree from Vanderbilt University. She began her teaching career in Higgston in 1935 and was retired from Georgia Southern University as a teacher, was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Eta Chapter and a member of the First Baptist Church of Statesboro. Miss ONeal is survived by nephews and nieces, Randolph and Sandra ONeal of Ailey, Richard ONeal of Savannah and Barbara Brodman of Sun City, California. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services for Miss Marie ONeal will be held Thursday, October 16, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Fred Swann officiating. Interment will follow in McCrimmon Cemetery near Higgston. Murchison Funeral Home Vidalia.
