Franklin W. "Frank" Evans Obituary

Uvalda, Montgomery County, Georgia - Franklin W. "Frank" Evans, 63, of 920 Jack ONeal Rd., Uvalda, died Sunday, September 14, in the Toombs Nursing Home of Lyons after an extended illness.

Mr. Evans was a native of Floyd County, resided in Effingham County most of his life, and lived in Uvalda for the past nine months. He was a Residential Construction Sub Contractor and was Baptist by faith.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Evans in 2002.

Survivors: three sons and daughters-in-law: Donald and Felicia Evans of Uvalda, Lee and Tammy Lang of Guyton, and Troy and Paige Evans of Statesboro, two sisters, Pat Peters of Jackson, MI. and Linda Evans of Rome, five grandchildren, Robbie, Josh, Laura, Madison, and Isaiah.

Visitation was held 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2003 at the funeral home.

Funeral Services: 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2003 from the Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Rev. Bob Corley officiating.

Burial: Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

Raymond James Groves, Jr. Obituary

Richmond Hill, Bryan County, Georgia - Raymond James Groves, Jr., 54, died Monday, September 15, 2003 at home under the care of Vista Hospice.

He was a native of Savannah and a life long resident of Richmond Hill. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He attended Daniel Baptist Church, was a member of the VFW, and a Past Recreation Association Coach.

Survivors: wife, Vickie M. Groves of Richmond Hill; sons, Mark P. Groves of Richmond Hill, and Adam P. Groves of Richmond Hill; sister, Peggy Collins of Richmond Hill; brother, David Groves of Richmond Hill; stepmother, Ann Groves of Vidalia; two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at Carter Funeral Home, Bryan Chapel in Richmond Hill.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at Carter Funeral Home, Bryan Chapel in Richmond Hill.

Burial: Burnt Church Cemetery.
