Mr. William Harvey Ganey Obituary

Lyons, Toombs Co, Georgia - Mr. William Harvey Ganey 67, died late Saturday evening in the Memorial Health University Hospital of Savannah after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A native and lifelong resident of Toombs County, he was a retired homebuilder of thirty one years co-owning Ganey Brothers Construction Company with his brother. He was retired from the U.S. Army National Guard as Sergeant First Class with 27 years service. He was a deacon and member of Hammond's Baptist Church.

Mr. Ganey was preceded in death by his parents, Doil and Johnnie Mae Ganey; one brother, Luther Ganey and one nephew, Sean Parker.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Charlene Harden Ganey of Lyons; two daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and Jeffrey Horton and Melinda and Rodney Morris all of Lyons; four granddaughters, Chelsea and Jessica Horton and Magen and Brooke Morris all of Lyons; one sister, Kathleen Parker of Lyons; several cousins, two nieces, and one nephew also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. William Harvey Ganey will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 from the chapel of Jones-Stewart Funeral Home of Lyons with Rev. Jesse Browning and Rev. Greg Riner officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery near Lyons. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Mr. Ronnie "Ron" Kersey Obituary

Cobbtown, Tattnall County, Georgia - Mr. Ronnie "Ron" Kersey 60, died Saturday at his home.

The Tattnall County native returned to Cobbtown from Warner Robins in 1998 after retiring from the U.S. Air Force. He also served in the U.S. Army and was a Baptist.

He was predeceased by his father, Warnell Kersey.

He is survived by his mother, Frankie B. Kersey Page and step-father, John Page of Cobbtown; sons, Greg and Ronnie Kersey both of Daytona, FL, and Mitchell Kersey of Cobbtown; sisters, Mary Nell Bailey of Scranton, PA, Bonnie Jarriel of Vidalia and Genie McDaniel of Lyons; seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Kennedy-Morgan Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with burial in the Sunlight Cemetery. Military Honors will be observed.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Billy Taylor Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Mr. Billy Taylor 62, died January 3, 2004.

Survivors: wife, Faye Copeland Taylor; brother, Walter Taylor; two sisters, Elizabeth Faircloth, Lena Faircloth; five step-children, several step-grandchildren, and others.

Graveside Services: 3:30 p.m. Monday from the Braddy Cemetery, Montgomery County. Interment will follow.
