Cobbtown, Tattnall County, Georgia - Mr. Walter Harry "Joe" Hendrix, age 71, died Saturday at Tattnall Community Hospital.
The Tattnall County native lived all of his life in Cobbtown and the Evergreen Community.
He was a former Tattnall Co. school bus driver, former member of The Cobbtown Lions Club, a retired farmer and served in the US Army as a Corporal.
He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church, a Cobbtown City Councilman and a Hunting Guide at Mill Creek and Beaver Creek.
He was one of the original members of the Melody Masters which later became the Hymnsmen Quartet, which had just celebrated their 50th anniversary.
Survivors include: wife, Mary Joyce Hendrix, of Cobbtown; sons, Perkins Hudak Hendrix, of Decatur and Doy Ott Hendrix, of Cobbtown; daughter, Melanie Campione, of Vidalia; brother, John Linton Hendrix, of Wilmington, NC; grandsons, Colin Vincent Campione and Bartholomew Eason Campione, both of Vidalia; one brother-in-law and two siste rs-in-law, Lamar and Betty Durden, of Cobbtown and Catherine Durden, of Tifton.
Funeral Services will be conducted Monday 4:00 p.m. at Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the Sunlight Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Cobbtown Chapel.

Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia - Mrs. Ruby Mabry Vann, 87, died Saturday, October 2, 2004 at her residence under the care of Hospice Savannah.
She was a native of Gainesville, Georgia, living her life in College Park, Braselton and Savannah.
Mrs. Vann was a member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wallace Vann Jr., and her son, John W. Vann III.
Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Scott W. and Julie Vann of Savannah; a sister, Mary Whelchel of Braselton, GA and her granddaughters, Lauren and Melissa Vann both of Savannah.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 3, 2004 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service will be Monday 10:30 a.m. at Isle of United Methodist Church.
Burial will be Monday at 4 p.m. in the Pinecrest Cemetery in Vidalia, Georgia.
Remembrances to Isle of Hope United Methodist Church or the Boy Scouts of America.
