Mr. Eugene T. Williams, age 75, Obituary

Lyons, Toombs County, Georgia - Mr. Eugene T. Williams, age 75, of 319 Charles W. Williams Rd., Lyons, died Saturday, November 5, at his residence after an unexpected illness.

Mr. Williams was a native of Toombs County served in the U.S. Army for 22 years moving back in 1970. He served in Viet Nam War and Korean Conflict, was a Staff Sergeant in the Army, was retired from Georgia State Prison after 18 years, farmed and raised hogs, and was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Eunice Hadden Williams and his father and mother, Charley W. and Dosie Yawn Williams.

Mr. Williams is survived by wife, Jean Williams of Lyons; two sons, Charles Eugene Williams of Lyons and Wesley Robert Williams of Vidalia; two daughters, Patricia Futch of Lyons and Karen Willis of Vidalia; two step sons, Eddie Powell and Freddie Powell both of Millen; two sisters, Betty Ann Brantley of Dublin and Carlene Carter of Odum; two brothers, Parmer Williams and Twiggs Williams both of Lyons; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three adopted children, John Charles Futch, Tabatha Kitchens, and Kimberly Futch, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Eugene T. Williams will be conducted Monday afternoon, November 7, at 2:00 from Jones-Stewart Funeral Home Chapel of Lyons with Rev. Glen Hancock and Rev. Bill Lee officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
