Mrs. Margaret Buris Donaldson
(1909-September 29, 2005)

Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia - Margaret Buris Donaldson, 96, of Savannah, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 at Hospice Savannah, Inc.

She was born in Peekskill, New York, and moved to Savannah in 1919, and was preceded in death by her husband, John I. Donaldson, Sr., and her 2 sons, John I. Donaldson, Jr., and Robert Franklin Donaldson.

She was a Founding Member of First Baptist Church of the Islands, and the Good Neighbor Sunday School Class. She was a member of the German Country Club and the German Friendly Society. She usually spent the summers in Ormond Beach, Fla. She was retired from Cranman Insurance Company after 34 years of service, as a Private Secretary.

She is survived by a daughter in law, Nora Donaldson of Savannah, Ga.; four granddaughters and their husbands, Robbin D. and Tony Sikes of Vidalia, Ga; Linda D. and Kevin Graves of Bluffton, S.C., Holly D. Hale, Savannah, Ga., and Hope D. and Frank DeVries of the Netherlands; three great granddaughters, MeganChristine and Candace Melissa Graves both of Bluffton, S.C., and Hannah Rose Sikes of Vidalia, Ga.

Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of the Islands, with Rev. Brooks Cail, officiating.

Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery. Mrs. Donaldson will be taken to the church at 9 a.m. Monday to lie in state.

Mrs. Linda E. Morris Shaffer Newsome
(May 19, 1948-September 29, 2005)

Hephzibah, Richmond County, Georgia - Mrs. Linda E. Morris Shaffer Newsome, age 57, of 5066 Horseshoe Circle, Augusta, died Thursday, September 29, in the University Hospital in Augusta after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Newsome was formally of Savannah residing in Augusta for the past 30 years. She was Protestant by faith. The daughter of Alma Morris and the late Harlan H. Morris was born on May 19, 1948 in Lyons.

Mrs. Newsome is survived by her husband: Calvin Newsome of Augusta, one son, Hank Shaffer, North Augusta, SC (fiancˇ) Rhonda Reddick of Waynesboro, GA; one granddaughter, Sara Shaffer of Liberty, SC; four sisters, Diane Heath (Wallace) of Bloomingdale, Tammy McBride (Robbie) of Savannah, Millie Mosley (Garry) of Rincon, and Jackie Harden (Rick) of Guyton; three brothers, Hilton Morris (Nancy) of Pembroke, Tommy Morris (Debbie) of Stillwell, and Chris Morris (Andrea) of Bloomingdale, several niecesand nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 until 9:00.

Graveside services for Mrs. Linda E. Morris Shaffer Newsome will be conducted Sunday afternoon, October 2, at 3:00 from Harden's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Archie Morgan officiating. Interment will follow.
