Uvalda - Mrs. Melba Jean Langston, 62, died early Thursday morning at her residence after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Toombs County, she was a retired seamstress supervisor and Church of God by faith.
Survivors: her husband, Billy Langston of Uvalda; daughters, Vickie Flowers of Vidalia and Carolyn Patrick of Lyons; sons, Roy, Gary, and Russell Langston, all of Uvalda; sister, Geraldine Davis of Lyons; brothers, James, Howard, Arley, Charles, Ronnie, and David Willis, all of Reidsville, Curtis Willis of Gray, and Ricky Willis of Glenville; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p. m. Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services: 2:00 p. m. Saturday from the chapel of Jones-Stewart Funeral Home of Lyons.
Burial: Lakeview Memorial Gardens near Vidalia.

Vidalia - Mr. Don L. Sears, 70, died Thursday, July 18 at Meadows Regional Medical Center.
Survivors: wife, Mary Thomas Sears; sons, Larry Michael Sears and Todd L. Sears.
Visitation: 7:00-9:00 p. m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 2:00 p. m. Saturday, July 20, in the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home.
Burial: Pinecrest Cemetery.

Lyons - Mrs. Muriel H. Stephens, 69, went to be with Jesus on Thursday afternoon, July 18, after an extended illness.
Mrs. Stephens was born Oct. 18, 1932 in Montgomery County. She was a graduate of Brewton Parker and was a retired schoolteacher. While residing in Jacksonville, FL for nine years, she was active in Kernan Blvd. Baptist Church. She resided in Lyons for the past two years and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church of Lyons. Muriel had many loves, her family, pets, quilting, and antiquing. Most of all she loved the Lord and was looking forward to heaven.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Idus D. Stephens in 1999.
Survivors: daughters, Cheryl Parten of Dallas, TX and Karen Stephens of Santa Claus; son, Mark Stephens of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Forris Humphrey of Acworth; grandchildren, Laura, Chad, and Luke Parten all of Dallas.
Visitation: 7:00-9:00 p. m. Friday, at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 3:00 p. m. Saturday, July 20, from the Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia with Rev. Ronnie McKenzie officiating.
Burial: Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
