Vidalia, Toombs County, Georgia - James "Jim" Hoyt Smith, Sr., 83, died Monday, August 12, at home.
Survivors: sons, James Hoyt Smith, Jr. and Benjamin Harrison Smith; sister, Anna Lee Smith.
Visitation: 7:00-9:00 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, August 14, at the Chapel of Murchison Funeral Home.
Burial: Pinecrest Cemetery.

Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia - Wilbur Dekle Rountree, 92, of Valdosta, died on Monday Aug. 12, after a short illness. Born on Feb. 3, 1910, in Adrian, GA, he was the son of the late Hattie Rogers and Alonzo Manning Rountree. Mr. Rountree was an Industrial Engineer with various Textile Mills. A Deacon and Elder of several Presbyterian Churches, he was presently a member of First United Methodist where he was active with Christian Homebuilders Sunday School Class. Mr. Rountree was a member of the Valdosta Rotary Club and the Twelve Old Mens Club.
Survivors: wife, Jeanne Redwine Davis Rountree of Valdosta; daughter, Martha Rountree Strait of Villa Rica; sons, W. Dekle, Jr. and Donna J. Rountree, of Bluffton, SC, Roger Regan Rountree of Ashville, NC; stepdaughter, Jane Hunter and Jack Bennett of Valdosta; grand children, Jodie J. Segafredo, Elizabeth H. Rountree, Gregory Strait, Douglas Strait, Lucy E. Rountree, Jessica Bennett, Parks Bennett, Jason Bennett; three great-grandchildren; sister Lottie R. Aaron of Lyons.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Redwine Rountree; a son, Parks Redwine Rountree; a sister, Sara Lynn Rountree; brothers, Manning Rountree, Elliott Rountree, John R. Rountree & Julian Rountree.
Funeral Services: 4:00 p. m. Tuesday Aug. 13 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Charles P. Adams officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Burial: 2:00 p. m. Wednesday Aug. 14 at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville, GA.
Remembrances: Valdosta Rotary Club or the charity of your choice.

Survivors: son, Daniel; mother, Doris; father, Daniel; one sister, two brothers, two step-brothers, nieces, nephews.
Visitation: 7:00-9:00 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 2:00 p. m. August 14, Ronnie L. Stewart Family Funeral Service Chapel of Vidalia.
Burial: Old Mt. Zion Cemetery.
