Charles Sanford Lee Obituary

Vidalia - Mr. Charles Sanford Lee, 85, died Monday, Sept. 9, at the Bethany Home Nursing Center of Vidalia after an extended illness.

A native of Vidalia, living most of his life there, he was a graduate of Emory University. He worked several years with Eastern Airlines in New York, Texas and North Carolina. He was in the hardware business for over 40 years and was owner of Lee Ace Hardware in Vidalia until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia, where he served on several boards and was church treasurer for several years. He was a director in Southern Hardware and Implement Association and a member of the Vidalia Kiwanis Club.

Survivors: his wife, Eleanor Cox Lee of Vidalia; three daughters, Bertie Frances Lamb of Melbourne, FL, Marilyn Bean of Saint George Island, FL, and Carol Lee of St. Simons Island; three grandsons, Tripp Mobley of Augusta, Chad Clarke of Santa Barbara, CA, and Bryant Clarke of Atlanta; two great- grandchildren; one sister, Mary Frances Kitchen of Decatur; one brother, Frank Lee of Albany; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 7:00-9:00 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services: 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia with Reverend David Blalock and Reverend Paul Dupree officiating.

Burial: Pinecrest Cemetery.

Remembrances: First United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Leon Guy Newton Obituary

Lyons - Mr. Leon Guy Newton, 76, died Sept. 8 at Toombs Nursing Home.

Survivors: wife, Margaret S. Newton of Lyons; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 4:00 p. m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Lyons United Methodist Church with Dr. Max Hill and Rev. James Aycock officiating.

Burial: Lyons City Cemetery.

Murchison Funeral Home.
