Miss Lillian Eason Obituary

Miss Lillian Eason, 86, died Monday, December 30, 2002, at Toombs Nursing Home. The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville most of her life. She was retired from The Tattnall County School System as the Curriculum Director and was the past state President of the Georgia Association of Curriculum Directors. She was the first lady trustee of the Tattnall County Campgrounds. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma, The DAR, the Reidsville Rascallettes and the Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Reidsville United Methodist Church where she was the first lady chairperson of the Official Board. She taught the Lillian Eason Sunday School Class for many years. She was also a member of the Wesleyan Service Guild and the 60 more or less group. She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Kicklighter of Reidsville and Martha Jean Smith of Orlando, FL; seven nieces, Linda Berry of Aurora, CO, Dr. Jackie Swensson of Denver, CO; Cindy Moore of Ollney, TX, Phyllis Geissek of Taft, CA, Angie Kappes of Reidsville, Vicki Rose of Orlando, FL, and Kim Jones of Groveland, FL; nephew, Johnny Shuman of Swainsboro; and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2003, at the Reidsville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marshall Singletary officiating. Interment followed in the Reidsville City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to The Reidsville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 218, Reidsville, GA 30453. Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Susie E. Goocher

Mrs. Susie E. Goocher of Jonesboro passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2003 in Atlanta Medical Center after a brief illness.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Goocher of Jonesboro; two sons, Emory and Isaac Goocher both of Jonesboro; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Goocher of Smyrna and Debra Morgan of Marietta; parents, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Byrd of Lyons; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Michael Mitchum of Collins and Ann and Jimmy Cook of Lyons; two nephews, Brad Goocher of Smyrna and Caleb Cook of Lyons; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the New Beginnings Church of God in Lyons on Saturday, January 11, 2003 at 10:00 a.m.

Don Harrelson, 50

Don Harrelson, 50, died Monday, January 6, 2003, at his residence under the care of Pearls Of Life Hospice. The Toombs County native had lived in Reidsville all of his life. He is survived by his wife, Betty Harrelson of Reidsville; five daughters, Dana Harrelson of Millen, Donna Harrelson of Waynesboro, Brenda Lee Harrelson of Cedar Key, FL, Linda Harrell of Hudson, FL, and Donna Faye Jenkins of CO; son, Michael Harrelson of Lyons; step-daughter, Angie Lanier of Collins; step-son, Joel Buttersworth of Reidsville; two brothers, Jerry Harrelson and Danny Harrelson both of Reidsville; seven grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 8, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Rob Hutcheson, Tony Willis, Carl Burkhalter, Dennis Sapp Jr., Tommy Lanier, and Harold Kidd. Honorary pallbearers were Russell Ray, Van Johnson, Randy Harden, Leslie Groover, Ray Worthy, Sid Bennett, Dewey Nail, and Seth Boyett. Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
