Mrs. Willie Cleo “Granny” Jackson, 88, Obituary
Mrs. Willie Cleo "Granny" Jackson, age 88, died Monday evening, February 21, 2005, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
The Jenkins County native lived in Bulloch County most of her life. She was a retired self-employed seamstress, homemaker and an avid gardener. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Payne’s Chapel United Methodist Church and attended the Portal United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Jackson; six sisters and five brothers.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Wanda J. and Joe Aldrich of Statesboro; a son, Johnny A. Jackson of Jesup; six grandchildren, Debbie and Richard Hilton of Reidsville, Shelia and Keith Perkins of Statesboro, Marcia and Gregg Collins of Statesboro, Michelle Smith, Scott Jackson and Shane Jackson; 11 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Mandy Hilton of Vidalia, Robert Hilton of Reidsville, Preston Moore, Ben Perkins, Keith Collins, Tyler Collins and Brandon Collins, all of Statesboro, Amber Jackson, Aaron Jackson and Tyler Jackson, all of Jesup; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. David Hudson officiating. Internment will be in the Payne’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Ga. 30459; or the Portal United Methodist Church, 10 Church St., Portal 30450.
