Mrs. Marie Beecher Cooper, 64

Mrs. Marie Beecher Cooper, 64, of Lyons, died Thursday evening, May 24, 2005, in the Glenvue Nursing Home of Glennville, GA, after a brief illness. Mrs. Cooper was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County. She was a seamstress and a member of Lyons Outreach Ministries. Mrs. Cooper was preseded in death by her husband, Buddy Cooper.

She is survived by a sister, Linda Dixon of Glennville; brother-in-law, Claude Dixon of Glennville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 27, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Jones-Stewart Funeral Home Chapel of Lyons with Rev. Rick Jones and Rev. James H. Holland officiating. Interment followed in Sharpe Cemetery. Pallbearers were Timmy Poole, Tommy Poole, Tony Poole, Kenny Duffany, Tommy Dubberly and Jim Cox.

Jones-Stewart Funeral Home of Lyons was in charge of the arrangements.


Ann Gay, 41

Ann Gay, 41, died Thursday morning, May 26, 2005, after short illness. The Tattnall County native had lived in Milledgeville most of her life.

She is survived by her parents, Herman L. and Opaline Gay of Reidsville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Patsy Gay and Mike and Carolyn Gay, both of Toombs County; a niece, Brittany Gay; a nephew, Michael Gay.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 28, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Fuenral Home with Rev. Robert Ferrell officiating. Interment followed in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Thomas Bland, Alan Holton, Kenneth Mosley, D.W. O'Neal, Jay Pittman and Daniel Beshires.

Brandley B. Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
